This has to be one of the most beautiful Substack newsletters I’ve ever read. And I think so many of us will resonate and feel every word written here Faima
i feel you! this is how i felt when i watched that episode too and the realisation that romance is a form of rizq too shocked me also and also scared me. but alhamdulillah, your insight into what blessings being umarried (at the moment!!!😉) come into your life is beautiful. may Allah reward you for all your good deeds, Ameen. and may He grant you a smart, funny, deen conscious muslim man, Allahumma Ameen.
Ameen Ameen! Haha thank you my dear sister. May Allah grant you the desires of your heart too inshallah. Regardless of whether it happens or not we are still so blessed alhamdulillah alhamdulillah
I love this reflection on this series! It brought me immense comfort as well and helped me realize what matters in this world. Loneliness is hard but Maryam (RA) was also not married and she was a devout Muslimah. We are capable of being enough on our own so long as we have Allah. Of course we are encouraged to try to seek marriage as a part of our deen as well. May Allah grant you a husband better than what you could've ever imagined in this dunya and in the Jannah, Insha'Allah!
This is so beautiful, and reading it as someone just going through a divorce, Omar Suleiman's statement on love being in a person's rizq was a bit of a punch in the heart. It's possible to be married and still not have love in your rizq.
Thank you for sharing your perspective on trusting in Allah. Yes, it would be nice if a gentle man who fears Allah, loves teenagers (I have 'em!) and protesting injustice materializes on my front door, but I'll take your writing to heart and try to focus on the things that I'm better able to do while single. JazakAllahuKheiran
Oh my sis, I pray Allah makes this journey easy for you and your children, and may it be a route to getting closer to Him. There’s rizq in being single too, I’ve found alhamdulillah, and I hope you find the same. Thank you for reading and sharing the kind comment
I love this “So when we grow frustrated because it feels like our duaas are not being answered, remember that Allah could actually be saving you from a bad marriage, He could give you something better than what you ask, avert a calamity from your or your family, or He could be waiting to give it to you in Jannah. “ 💕
Faima, the honesty in your writing is beautiful and I so earnestly pray that Allah grants you everything and more that you desire and that which is good for you. I have utmost faith that your hopefulness and recognition of God will not be unanswered. Ameen.
Aw Nuzhatara thank you so so much. What a kind comment. Ameen Ameen! I hope Allah grants you your duaas too inshallah sis. Thanks for reading and reaching out xx
I just said a prayer for you. I pray you find what is destined to be yours in this life and that you are content with it. I found some comfort when I watched this video from his series because it gives me a framework to work with, if I did not believe in religion then I'd be devastated pondering about all the lost love and unfound love people have in this life. And what a beautiful perspective it is to look at what you gain if you don't find rizq in the form of romance in this life. Rizq is all around us, our friends, our pets, our siblings, and more. Love is all around us if we look for Allah's signs.
Ameen. Thank you so much for your duaas it means so much to me. I’ve found so much comfort in sheikh Omar’s video and can’t wait for his new Ramadan series! And truly we are so lucky to have faith, I’m not sure how I would get by each day without it. May Ar-Razzaq increase your rizq in the best of ways inshallah
